Say hello to “The Next Big Name In Tech” — Black Enterprise magazine says it’s LISNR and our CEO and co-founder, Rodney Williams!

Williams graces the cover of the May 2016 issue of the magazine, and is featured in the corresponding article that profiles several entrepreneurs who are making use of cutting-edge technology.

The magazine cites proximity marketing — letting retailers deliver content, information and experiences direct to consumers’ devices wherever they are — as one of the promising applications for LISNR’s data-over-audio technology. Williams notes that a major update is on the way that is likely to significantly expand the protocol’s capabilities to areas including contactless payments and other transactions, security, and transportation by helping “devices connect in the world’s most complicated environments.”

The article also cites the successful demonstration of LISNR’s device-to-device connectivity at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and Williams’ hope to have LISNR become an alternative to Bluetooth and other short-range connectivity protocols.

LISNR is a new communication protocol that sends data over audio using inaudible sound waves called SmartTones™.  These customizable packets of data can enable proximity data transmission, second-screen functionality, authentication and low-fi device-to-device connectivity on any LISNR-enabled device.  We enable this functionality better and more efficiently than Bluetooth (proximity), ACR (second Screen), and NFC/RFID (authentication). Contact us to learn more.
